I am quite a fan of Googles Maps and Earth applications.
To watch the earth and every location on it from the perspective of a satellite is just fascinating.
Accidentally I stumbled upon a phenomenon which doesn't really make sense to me ... Maybe you can help me out and tell me what we are looking at.

A gigantic swirl of water in the Sahara? Not quite plausible, isn't it? But what is it then?
